Ristafallet waterfall in western Jämtland, which you can see from the campsite, is one of the most beautiful in Sweden. The waterfall is 50 meters wide and has a total drop of 14 meters. In winter, the ice caves are lit from behind the waterfall. This is very beautiful! Depending on season, the amount of water varies from 100 to 400 m3 per second. The waterfall and the woods are very old and unique, and are therefore a protected nature reserve. A wooded island seperates falls into two parts. The island has a cave that can be visited in the winter when the waterfalls are frozen. The cave is about 20 meters long and has two entrances. The falls are worth a visit any time of the year.
